At Scargill House we aim to provide good, hearty food which can be enjoyed by everyone.
We do our best to cater for every need, so please let us know of any special dietary requirements when booking. Our menu is varied and we source locally whenever we can.
When you enjoy a meal at Scargill, it will have been prepared for you by members of our community’s Kitchen Team, and you will be served at your table.
We serve water with every meal but you are welcome to bring your own drinks, such as wine (although perhaps not at breakfast!).
The dining room
Our dining room is moderate in size, bright and airy. Dining is family style, with 7 people to a table.
In the week, we offer a wholesome and plentiful continental breakfast including cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants—and as much toast as you can eat! Programmed weekend and mid-week breaks include an English breakfast on at least one day.
Lunch is usually buffet style — perhaps home-made pizza, quiche, jacket potatoes with various fillings, salads and sometimes pasta dishes. Fruit and yoghurts are always available.
Dinner is a two-course set meal, followed by coffee. The menu is varied and well-balanced – but don’t worry, the puddings are delicious!
