Community

The Scargill Community is made up of Community Members and supplemented by International Community Volunteers. Together they represent Christians from different denominations from all over the world. They live on the estate, working to deliver our vision and offer hospitality to our guests in an atmosphere of “love, laughter and life”.

Community consists of families, couples and single people. Some are on gap years, some are taking a career break to consider where God is leading them next, some are retired and others have made a longer-term commitment to raise their family with us.

Community is always changing, and we’re always on the lookout for new people with a heart for hospitality, creativity and fun. Those with full rights to work in the UK (e.g. UK nationals or those with a valid Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa) may apply for one of our Community Member roles (see our list of current vacancies).

Alternatively, if you’re from outside of the UK, you may be able to join on a short term placement through our International Community Volunteer Programme. Our International Community Volunteers serve alongside Community Members and are fully immersed in community life. They bring with them a rich source of new experiences, culture and stories to share within Community and with our guests.

Our Community commit to staying with us for a set period of time, and all agree to live by the Scargill Pathway Promises. The community is always changing but remains a place of love, support and friendship.

Why not come and say hello – we’ll be happy to chat to you and show you round!
