Chaplain Vacancy
Do you have a heart for shared life and a passion for people and hospitality?
We are a vibrant intentional and ecumenical community based at Scargill House in the heart of North Yorkshire. We are seeking a new community member to play a key role as part of our Pastoral & Teaching Team; sharing God’s welcome to a wide variety of guests.
Do you have strong pastoral and teaching gifts, good people skills and a desire to share in the lives and fun of guests and community alike?
We are looking for a commissioned leader (lay or ordained), of a church affiliated to the “Churches Together in Britain and Ireland”. We would be glad to receive applications from women as they are underrepresented in our Pastoral and Teaching Team. This post is suitable for a person early in their ministry.
The post is a live-in position for 3 years with yearly reviews. Accommodation most suited for a single person.
The job description is here and please e-mail di@scargillmovement.org for a full application pack.
Closing date for applications: 24th April 2023
Interviews: week beginning 8th May 2023
Preferred start date: 1st September 2023
Are you the missing piece in our Scargill jigsaw?

Have you felt a call to community? Would you like to immerse yourself in life at Scargill, experiencing an apprenticeship in discipleship?
There are a number of ways you can be a part of this adventure serving God. If you are a UK citizen or have a valid Youth Mobility Scheme Tier 5 Visa, you can apply to become a Community Member. Alternatively, we welcome applications from people outside the UK as part of our International Community Volunteer Programme (ICVP).
We are currently looking to rebuild community, with both younger members, for example on a Gap Year, as well as those with kitchen, admin and leadership experience.
If you’d like to explore this further, please give us some of your details, and we’ll be back in touch.
