Scargill Community

A pre-Christmas celebratory weekend was the very first event to occur in the life of the newly resurrected Scargill House, and we have offered guests a similar December treat ever since. This year we shall, of course, be plying you with festive food and entertainment, and there will be an opportunity to visit the famous Grassington Christmas Market, or, if you prefer, a chance to walk the winter landscape of Wharfedale led by Mike Weighell.* Our teaching will focus specifically on the birth of Christ, certainly the most important event in the history of this troubled world. Come and join us for a rich mix of carols, Christmas trees and candlelight. Let our Community enfold and entertain you. We’ll have such a great time.

*Mike says: ‘We will walk from Scargill up onto the fells around Kettlewell. The walk will be around 8-9 miles with some steep climbs to make the most of the views. We will be back for afternoon tea in front of the wood burning stove to get warmed up!‘

If you would like to attend, but the cost of the ticket is a difficulty for you, then contact Phil in confidence about a bursary to help with the cost.
