Many of you will remember Ren Smith who died in September 2025. A special talent for transfiguring the ordinary into something significant or even remarkable is celebrated in her poem entitled Bin Bag Dancing. Our own experience has been that there is nothing, neither objects, situations, people, nor single seconds of time that cannot be captured and made visible and interesting by focussed observation. Our challenge this weekend is for you to use any mode of writing you choose to give your humble subject a starring role, or at least a brief moment of fame. As always, we look forward with real excitement to hearing your work.

Adrian and Bridget Plass

Bridget and Adrian have been married for fifty-two years and have four adult children. Adrian has written over forty books. Adrian and Bridget (both writers and speakers) have enjoyed presenting and teaching together in just about every setting you can imagine, and some you probably cannot. A major highlight was their time spent living on Community and helping with the revival of Scargill House.
