Our singing weekends have proved very popular in recent years, and so why not book in for a beautiful, harmonious and
praise-filled weekend of song, led by Mike Leigh, former Chaplain of the Scargill Community. Mike is a ‘natural voice’
practitioner; a song leader who uses music from across the world that is sung without instruments (i.e. a cappella singing).
He’ll teach songs which are easy to learn and full of harmony, that create community, build self-confidence and open the channels of our awareness of God, other people and the beauty of creation.
This weekend falls at the beginning of Holy Week and Palm Sunday, so Mike will include songs that reflect this and be used in the Palm Sunday service. There will be singing sessions on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday mornings, plus the opportunity for a singing walk on Saturday afternoon and the chance to be part of the worship at our Sunday service.
The weekend is open to singers of all standards (even those who feel they can’t sing!) and you don’t need to read music to join in as everything is taught by ear.
