An outdoor retreat – gentle water-themed walks in the Wharfe Valley will provide you space and time to reflect with God. Connect with the Creator through His creation and develop your ability to hear God to speak into your life through your everyday experiences. Walks will be fairly easy but footpaths may be uneven in places.

Connect with the Creator through His creation: The exact programme will depend on our group and the weather, but riverside, waterfalls, reservoirs and possibly even stepping stones are all options as we explore together what Jesus meant when he declared that if we believe in Him then streams of living water will well up within us (John 7:38). Walks are likely to be 4-5 miles long, and won’t include much ascent. All walks offered are optional, and are designed to be accessible to people of an average level of fitness.
Hear God’s voice: come away and develop your ability to hear God to speak into your life through your everyday experiences. We will take time out on our walks to reflect on our environment and our experiences. A retreat room with prayer stations, reflections and other ways to spend time with God will also be available throughout the retreat.

“My prayer for you as you set time aside for retreat in the beautiful surrounds of Scargill is that not only will you receive the refreshment and inspiration from God that will reenergise your return to everyday life, but that you will also look forward to hearing Him in and amongst the more mundane moments and environments of your ‘normal’!”
