We want to offer a welcome to everyone. Our bursary fund enables us to offer a discount to those who may genuinely need to come to Scargill but could not otherwise afford to.
We calculate our prices extremely carefully at Scargill, because we have a large estate to run (responsibly), and so we have to cover our costs with some left over for investment.
However, we recognise that there are times in all of our lives when finding the money for the things we want (or need) to do can be difficult – and it can be at times like this that people really do need to get away for a little refreshing. We would never want cost to prevent anyone from coming to stay.
How much, and how to apply
The grant made will vary according to circumstances, but typically we can offer around 25% off. Applications can be made in confidence to the director: there’s no form to fill in: simply send a message directly to Phil Stone.
Our bursary fund is well-used and makes a real difference – so donations from other guests, made specifically for this purpose, are always very welcome.
Giving to the fund
If you would like to give, please complete our Donation and Gift Aid form and select the bursary option.
- If you are making a bank transfer, our bank details are – sort code 20-78-42 and account number 33810402. Please make sure you write your name as the reference so we know where the donation has come from and can match it up with any Gift Aid declaration.
- If you are sending a cheque, please make it payable to “Scargill Movement” and send it to Scargill House at our postal address.
