‘The Psalms often take us on a journey we might not otherwise make on our own.’ (Graham Kendrick) There’s a particular group of Psalms in the Hebrew Scriptures (120-134), known as ‘Pilgrim Psalms’ or ‘Songs of Ascent’. These were sung by pilgrims who journeyed, often very long distances and through difficult terrain, eventually ascending towards the Temple in Jerusalem to join others in celebrating the various annual feasts. This week will be a great opportunity to explore and learn together from some of these Psalms. We will draw inspiration from the experiences
and emotions of those ancient pilgrims, and make connections with the ups and downs of our own lives and journeys of faith.
