Margaret & Jock Stein

This is an online-only event.

Jesus’ friends, Mary and Martha

A day to reflect on what we can learn from these sisters. Bible, art and poetry will help us investigate two characters who represent the church – and each one of us – right up to the present day.

Jock and Margaret Stein are retired Church of Scotland ministers whose love of Scargill goes back to their friendship with Ian and Gill Davidson. Margaret is an artist and spiritual director, and her husband Jock writes poetry and runs the Handsel Press.

This day will be hosted by Scargill with input sessions and opportunity for discussion in small groups, and in-between time to reflect and pray. A ticket covers one device to connect and is not per person, for example, if two of you share a laptop, you just need one ticket.

Session times:

9:45am – time to log on for 10am Welcome and session 1

12 noon – opportunity for some small group discussion

2pm Session

4pm opportunity for some small group discussion

4:20pm Final prayers

4:30pm end

The Quiet Day is free and on Zoom. If you would like to donate then we suggest an amount of £20 for the day. Our Eventbrite system has two types of tickets for each event, but both give you the same access. You can either book a Free ticket OR a Donation ticket (minimum donation is £1) – please do choose the ticket that suits you. If you’d rather make a donation in a different way, that’s absolutely fine – just choose the free ticket. Thank you!
