David Runcorn

This is an online-only event.

A Lent retreat led by David Runcorn.

Spiritual growth rarely happens in ideal circumstances (and nor does life itself actually!). Lent this year is one of those times. This important season is when Christians seek to deepen faith, prayer and understanding cannot happen in the usual ways – especially going anywhere on retreat. Scargill is inviting you to a retreat that you can share in from wherever you are. David Runcorn will be leading the retreat. He is a well-known writer, speaker and retreat leader and a regular visitor at Scargill. He will give five reflections on the theme of ‘Dust and Glory’ – the title of his popular Lent book.

The retreat will have a simple structure. Each morning we will join together for two sessions. The first will begin with prayers. The second will end with prayers. There will be a space in between. The rest of the day is for you to use in any way you choose. There will be resources offered for praying and reflecting for those who would find it helpful and possible. At the end of each evening there will be an opportunity to join us for a short service of Night Prayer. David’s reflections will be live on zoom, and recorded so that participants can view them at a different time if they were unable to join in at the session time.

We would love to see you whether you are new to retreats or have been on many. Suggestions and Resources will be provided to help you structure your time on Retreat.

Session times:
Tue: 10am, 12 noon, 9pm (Night Prayers)
Wed: 10am, 12 noon, [4pm Optional discussion]; 9pm (Night Prayers)
Thu: 10am, 12noon

A ticket covers one device to connect and is not per person, for example, if two of you share a laptop, you just need one ticket. The sessions will be recorded on Zoom and be available to view for 2 weeks after the event.

If you would like to join this conference but the cost of the ticket is a difficulty for you, then contact Phil in confidence about a bursary to help with the cost.

Bookings for this event will close on Monday 8th March at 14:00. If you book on to this event, you will receive an email from us by 18:00 on Monday 8th March with further details of the event including the Zoom links.
