Howard Worsley

Ancient monasticism is making a comeback as it is dawning on us that we are meant to live in community if we are to play a part in the mission of God. This retreat looks at the insights of St Francis of Assisi, the Thirteenth Century friar who changed the western world. We will look at simplicity, poverty, mission, getting into the great outdoors, interfaith engagement, engaging with injustice and living with joy. This retreat is designed to help participants to embrace a rule of life that allows for habitual mission and prayer as a way of life. Howard Worsley is Tutor in Mission at Trinity College in Bristol where he is also the Vice Principal. He is a third order Franciscan and a researcher into children’s spirituality, an educationalist who publishes regularly for academic journals.
