Bishop Chris Edmondson , Karen Openshaw

This is an online-only event.

Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow…

….. a somewhat unusual title perhaps for an advent retreat, but we are living through unusual times. How do we find strength for today as we patiently and hopefully wait to celebrate the birth of the Christ child in the midst of a global pandemic? How do we remain mindful of the faithful love of God? Let’s journey together and find strength through the promises in Matthew 6: 26-34, reflecting too on the steadfast love of ‘the Marys‘ for Jesus, discovering that our hope too really is in Christ alone

Bishop Chris is Chair of Trustees at Scargill; Karen is a good friend of Scargill. In her consultancy work, she provides a listening service, counselling support and training in mindfulness.

A ticket covers one device to connect and is not per person, for example, if two of you share a laptop, you just need one ticket. The sessions will also be available online later each day if you can’t make it live.

Session times:

Friday 27th November 7:45pm log on for 8-9pm session

Saturday 28th November 10am, 12 noon and 4:30pm

Sunday 29th November 12 noon

If you would like to join this conference but the cost of the ticket is a difficulty for you, then contact Phil in confidence about a bursary to help with the cost.
